Keep FTP Connections Alive
Dropped FTP connections are annoying and time consuming. With ALFTP you can automatically keep those connections alive and even configure how aggressively you want to try keeping FTP connections alive.
Set how often you want ALFTP to "NOOP" your FTP server by checking the "Keep Alive" checkbox in the preferences and setting "Poll" to the number of seconds between each FTP NOOP command.
NOOP is a special FTP command that does nothing, but lets an FTP server know that you're still there and that you'd like to stay connected to the FTP server. By NOOPing an FTP server every so often, you can keep your FTP connection alive. ALFTP lets you NOOP FTP servers automatically, so you can do more important things like get a beverage of choice from the fridge.
