What about my privacy?

Your trust and privacy is very important to us at ESTsoft. We do not collect any personally identifying information. However, you may register for an account with us that requires a valid email address, username and a password. No other information is required.

For your account, you may choose at your own discretion to personalize your account with additional information that may or may not be personally identifying, e.g. avatar image, name, country, province/state, etc. You may choose to opt into some of our newsletters for various ALTools, and we will use your information to personally address you, e.g. "Dear Sally" or "Hello Sally".

We do not rent, sell or give your information to 3rd parties or do anything bad/naughty/questionable with your information...

We do create aggregate statistics (e.g. Non-personal information like "1,000,000 people use ALToolbar"). You can opt out of this when you install ALToolbar.

Do I need to signup to use ALToolbar?

No. You do not need to signup to use ALToolbar. However, you will not be able to access any of the online functionality. That requires a free ALTools membership. You can signup for free here.

What's the difference between my ALToolbar and my ALTools web site login?

There is no difference. They are the same.

You login to the ALTools web site and ALToolbar with the email address that you registered with, and with your password.

How do I switch search engines in ALToolbar?

To quickly switch search engines in the ALToolbar search bar:

* Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys OR
* Use your mouse wheel

Why would I want to use the ALTools search at http://search.altools.com/ ?

The ALTools search results are all from the world's largest search engines, so you're getting top quality results that you may very well already be getting with the search engine you're currently using.

How do I search faster with ALToolbar?

 Instead searching like this:

1. Grab your mouse
2. Click in the browser address bar
3.Type a search engine URL
4. Press ENTER
5. Move your hand over to the mouse again
6. Click in the search input box
7. Type your search
8. Press ENTER again...

You can search faster with ALToolbar like this:

1. Double-tap the SHIFT key
2. Type your search
3. Press ENTER

How do I take full web page screenshots?

Click the "Capture" button on ALToolbar and choose "Complete Page". You are then prompted to save, copy, edit or print the screenshot.

How do I use Mouse Gestures?

Mouse Gestures are very easy to use. Press F4 to display the preferences then click the Mouse Gestures tab. You'll see the various gestures that you can use and their corresponding actions.

Try this (Read all 3 first!):

1. Click this link to visit the ALTools home page.
2. On the ALTools home page, right-click your mouse, and while holding it down, move your mouse left (  )
3. Congratulate yourself on learning your first Mouse Gesture when you see this page again!
