ALZip Speed Extractor Video Tutorial

Hello. My name is Ryan and today I'm going to show you the world's fastest way to extract archives.

The ALZip Speed Extractor is new in v7.0 and is THE fastest way to extract archives, bar none.

The ALZip Speed Extractor preferences are found in the Preferences on the Context Menu tab under "Speed Extractor (Double-click Archive Behavior)." Available options include:

  1. Open with ALZip - This is the default way that you're used to and is how pretty much every program in the world works.
  2. Extract to My Default Folder - This is the absolute fastest way in the world to extract archives. I'll show you this in just a few moments. And
  3. Show Menu - This is the second fastest way to open archives. I'll also demonstrate this later on.

In those preferences there you can select your "My Default Folder." I'm going to select "DesktopFilename" for my "My Default Folder" because I like working on the Desktop. You can also browse and select another folder by clicking the browse button here. The available default options are just to make choosing a folder faster and easier for you.

I'm also going to select "Extract to My Default Folder," and click OK. Now I'm ready for super-fast extraction!

Let's have a quick look over here on the desktop at an archive. I'll double-click it, and there it is. The ALZip Speed Extractor automatically extracted my archive into a new named folder on my Desktop.

But perhaps that went by too fast. I'll slow down a bit and show you one more time.

I've got another archive that I want to extract. Remember the preferences that I set before, "Extract to My Default Folder" for the double-click behavior, and "My Default Folder" set to a named folder on my Desktop? That's where ALZip will extract my archive. So, I double-click on it, and there it is. My archive is extracted to a named folder on my Desktop with just a double-click. It just cannot get any faster than that.

Next, let's have a look at what that "Show Menu" preference was all about. I'll quickly open ALZip, press F4, check the "Show Menu" option, and click OK. Next, back here on the Desktop I'll double-click an archive and there it is. ALZip shows me a nice compact menu for me to choose what I want to do next. My available choices are:

Extract to "Filename"
Extract here
Extract to My Default Folder
ALZip Self-Extractor (EXE)
Open with ALZip
and Preferences

Those are all pretty much self-explanatory, so I'll just click the Preferences option. And here I am back to where I can change my ALZip Speed Extractor preferences.
