Hi-def MOV files

Hi there

Absolutely love ALShow but I've just bought a gorgeous Canon Ixus 100is that takes 720p HD video in MOV format. Sadly, ALShow won't play it back properly - it flcikers backwards and forwards between normal video and a sort of bas-relief, grey, mangled image.

Are there any particular codecs I need to download? Anything else I need to do to be able to play my vids?

cheers in advance

Mark

Hello MarkMichalowski,

Thank you for loving ALShow .

The codec related to Mov file is here.
http://codec.alshow.co.kr/page/en/quicktime.htm
But, in my view,  you said the mov file is played though with a problem, this codec already installed well .

Could you check  the ALShow vesion you've installed?
Click Menu [Help] > [ About ALShow ] and there are ALShow "Version".
The latest version is ALShow 1.7, so if your PC's ALShow version is below 1.7, please update.

Still same result, could you send us that MOV file?
We have to have a look into the files.
Send us the download URL or you can upload the file to our Web disk, BIZHARD.

Also we need further Info to find the reason of the issue you're reported.
During play that mov file, clic menu [ File ] > [ Filter Info ] and you can see the filter info.
Capture and save it with a Capture program, and please leave comment here with it.

If you can't send us files, please give us the filter info.
Frankly speaking, only with filter info, it is not easy to find the exact reason.

Here is our Web disk account information.

You can ONLY upload file to the Web disk.

Thank you.

Hi there Young!

Thanks for the reply.

I have version 1.7. I've been to the http://egghead.bizhard.com/En/Login.aspx page to upload a video clip, but the page is in Chinese/Japanese/not sure (apologies for not being able to recognise the language) so I have no idea what to click on or where to go up upload the video :(

And I'm afraid I don't have any online space where I could upload the file to :(

I've looked at the filter info for the video - which info do you need because there are several:

DefaultDirect Sound Device/Audio Renderer

DefaultDirect Sound Device/Advanced

Video Renderer properties/Quality

Video Renderer properties/DirectDraw

Video Renderer properties/Performance

None of the other Filter options give any information.

thanks for your help so far - all the best

PS The video plays fine in VLC Media Player and in Media Player Classic.

Hello again Young

Can you give me the actual URL for the English page: no matter what I click on (and I've clicked every link I can find on the page) I just get taken to pages in Korean. I can't find *any* menu for changing the language.

Sorry if I'm being stupid!! LOL!

Hello MarkMichalowski,

I'm sorry, too.
I edited my recent reply with the site info and images.
In my view, this time you can find it easily.

 Thank you again.

Hi again Young.

Thanks again for your help. But when I click on the link you gave me, it doesn't take me to the page shown in the screenshot at all. It takes me to a page that looks nothing like the one you showed me. I don't know whether this image link I've put in will work - I can't think of any way to show you what the screen looks like. Have you tried clicking on the link yourself? :)

Hi there Young!

Yay! Suddenly the link is working and I've uploaded the file - I hope. It crashed a couple of times whilst I was uploading, so please let me know if you've received the file OK - the filename was 2009.06.20 - Out in Leeds 112.MOV

Thanks you!

Hello MarkMichalowski,

I've got your file!
As soon as I download that  mov file, I check the issue you've reported and give it our dev team to look into.
ALShow has some video codec issue, so we have to research about solution.
Unfortunately, it take some time. If we've got a way to solve that issue, I let you know.
I'm very sorry that we can't  give it to you right now.

Thank you very much for your report.

Best regards,
Young

PS. Quick time player play well, too,
