There are 3 major things you need to know to use ALPass:
If you can do these 3 things, you'll be using ALPass in minutes.
To get started with ALPass, you'll need to create an ALPass user login for yourself. This keeps all your other logins and passwords in ALPass, safe and secure. To register a new ALPass user: 1. Open ALPass and click the New User button.
2. Enter an ID, a password, confirm your password, and click OK.
That was easy enough. Now just login to ALPass. (Please see Registering ALPass Users if you need more assistance.)
Once you are logged in, click Tools > Preferences, or press the F4 key to open the ALPass preferences dialog. Choose the Browser tab:
Check all the preferences as you see them above. Leave Auto Login unchecked for now. For more detailed help on preferences, please see Preferences.
Here's a secret... The Add and the Modify dialogs are exactly the same! If you know one, you know both. When you visit a web site for the first time, ALPass will automatically popup and ask you to confirm whether you want to add the site that you just logged into:
Make any changes, if necessary, and then click OK. The next time you visit that site, ALPass will automatically fill in your login and password. To modify a site, just select it in the Site Browser and click the Modify toolbar button to see the SAME dialog as the automatic one above. Make your changes and click OK. This is what the site browser looks like with a few web sites in it:
For more detailed help on adding, modifying, and managing site in ALPass, please see Manage Web Site Logins with ALPass.
Now that you've learned the basics, you can experiment and play with the preferences in ALPass and fine tune it to suit your personal style. Have a read in the rest of the help documentation, but above all, enjoy!
