Using ALPass from Removable Storage (USB Drive)
Install ALPass to Removeable Storage.
ALPass lets you install it to a removable storage device. Some examples of compatible removable storage include:
| • | USB External Hard Drives |
| • | Firewire External Hard Drives |
| • | iPod when set to allow file storage |
| • | MP3 Players and other PMPs that connect as external storage |
| • | Digital Cameras that register as removable storage |
| • | Memory Cards for digital cameras and mobile phones with a card reader such as: |
| • | Reduced Size Multimedia Card |
| • | Secure Digital Card (SD Cards) |
| • | Secure Digital High Capacity Cards (SDHC Cards) |
| • | PRO and PRO Duo Memory Sticks |
There are 2 ways to install ALPass to a USB drive:
| 1. | Install ALPass using the installer file (ALPass.exe) |
| 2. | Install ALPass from inside ALPass (automatically copies your ALPass data for the currently logged in user) |
To install ALPass from the ALPass.exe setup file:
| 1. | Double-click the ALPass.exe installer file |

| 3. | Check "I accept the agreement" then click [ Next ] |

| 4. | Check "Install to removable storage (USB)" and select the USB drive that you wish to install to from the drop down menu as shown above. |


| 7. | ALPass then installs to your USB drive and displays the readme.txt file for you with the version history. |

| 9. | Your ALPass USB setup is complete. Click [ Finish ] to exit the installer and launch ALPass. |

| 10. | In order to use ALPass the first time, you need to restart Internet Explorer if you have it open. |

To install ALPass from inside ALPass:

| 1. | Click File > Save to Removable Storage (D) |

| 2. | Select your USB drive from the list and click OK |

| 3. | ALPass installs itself to your removable storage device |
Running ALPass from a USB Drive
Running ALPass from a USB drive is no different from running it on your computer. Just double-click the ALPass program file (ALPass.exe) to run ALPass.

| 1. | Browse in Windows Explorer to the ALPass folder on your removable storage device |

| 2. | In the ALPass folder, double click the ALPass icon to start ALPass. |
ALPass will start and you can use it as normal
Copying an ALPass Database to your Removable Storage
When you install ALPass onto your removable storage device from inside of ALPass, ALPass will automatically copy the currently logged in user to your device.
If you use more than one ALPass login (not web site logins), you can add them to your portable ALPass by logging in as that user, then clicking File > Save to Removable Storage (D)...
ALPass will not copy all users. It will only copy users that are logged in. This requires that you login with your password and is for your protection.
