Adjusting Colors

Adjust brightness, gamma, chroma, contrast, hue, sharpness and blur with slider bars, up/down buttons, or type new values in directly. Changes are instantly reflected in the preview pane.

Adjust colors and levels in pictures - frog in Guam

  • Brightness
    Make the picture brighter or darker.
    Set values between -100 (darkest) and +100 (brightest) with the slider.
  • Gamma
    Gamma adjusts the brightness of mid-level tones. Compresses darker tones and lengthens brighter tones.
    Set gamma values between 1 (darkest) and 200 (brightest).
  • Chroma
    Chroma adjusts the purity of colors or saturation.
    Change between -100 (no color) and +100 (richer color).
        e.g. To raise the chroma by 20%, set the value to +20.
  • Contrast
    Contrast adjusts the relative difference between the dark and light tones.
    Set contrast between -100 (darkest) and +100 (brightest).
  • Hue
    Hue adjusts the relative positioning of the colors along the color spectrum. It has no effect on 8 bit greyscale or black and white pictures.
    Set values from -180 to 180. Colors shift along the spectrum from Red¬>Green¬>Blue.
  • Sharpness
    Sharpness adjusts the degree of clarity in the photo. (Opposite of blur.)
    Set sharpness from -100 to +1,000.
  • Blur
    Blur softens a photo, or reduces the degree of clarity in the photo, measured in pixels. (Opposite of sharpness.)
    Set blur from 0 to 20. The number represents the area size to average the pixels for.
