Browse Mode Edit Menus can move, copy, and delete the files.

Cut <Ctrl +X>

Move pictures by cutting them and pasting them to new directories. Delete them from the original location and copies them to the new location.

1. With the pictures selected, click [Edit] -> [Cut].

2. Browse to the new directory.

3. Click [Edit] -> [Paste]

4. The pictures are moved.

 

Copy <Ctrl + C>

Copies the selected pictures to the clipboard.

1. With the photo(s) selected, click [Edit] -> [Copy].

2. Browse to the directory you wish to copy the photo(s) to.

3. Click [Edit] -> [Paste].

4. The photos are copied to the new location.

 

Copy to Picture Clipboard

Copies a picture to the Windows clipboard so that it is available to other applications like Microsoft Word, Power Point or Microsoft Paint.

1. Select the file to copy in [Browse] mode.

2. Click [Edit] -> [Copy to Picture Clipboard].

3. Switch to another application and paste the picture into it.

*Remarks: You cannot paste pictures copied this way into Windows Explorer as files. This is for copying pictures into other application.

 

Paste <Ctrl + V>

Copies picture or photo data from the clipboard to a new location.

1. [Copy] or [Cut] a picture to the clipboard.

2. Browse to the new directory and click [Edit] -> [Paste].

3. The picture(s) has been pasted into the new directory.

 

Delete <Del>

Delete the selected picture(s).

1. Select the picture(s) you wish to delete.

2. Click [Edit] -> [Delete].

3. You are prompted to confirm the deletion.

 

Rename <F2>

Change the file name of the selected picture.

1. Select a file.

2. Click [Edit] -> [Rename].

3. Enter the new file name.

*Remarks: Changing the file extension of a picture while renaming it does NOT change the picture format, but you do not need to retype the file extension again. E.g. If the file name is "MyPicture.jpg" you can rename it to "YourPicture" and the file will be correctly renamed as "YourPicture.jpg."

 

Rotate 90 degree Clockwise and save

Turn the selected picture 90 degree clockwise and save.

1. Select the picture(s) you wish to rotate.

2. Click [Edit] -> [Rotate 90 degree Clockwise and save].

3. You are notified that the original picture(s) was saved to current subfolder.

 

Rotate 90 degree Counterclockwise and save

Turn the selected picture 90 degree counterclockwise and save.

1. Select the picture(s) you wish to rotate.

2. Select [Edit] -> [Rotate 90 degree Counterclockwise and save].

3. You are notified that the original picture(s) was saved to current subfolder.

 

Select All <Ctrl + A>

Select all available files and folders in the current directory.

1. Click [Edit] -> [Select All].

2. All available files and folders are selected.

*Remarks: Depending upon how you set your options in Windows and in ALSee, not all files and directories may be "available". Usually system files and system directories are hidden to protect them. Hidden files are not available. Also, if you checked [Show pictures only] in ALSee [Preferences], then only normal directories and picture files will be available.

 

Invert Selection

Deselect all selected files and directories and selects all available others.

1. Click [Edit] -> [Invert Selection].

2. Selected and unselected files and folders are reversed.
