egg_violet Tools

zip-options-menu_01

Preferences

Allows you to change the default ALZip settings.

Password

Sets a password for files to be added to an archive. Use this option when you have an existing archive and want to add file to it with password protection. By default, newly added files are NOT password protected. To use this option, simply click on Password, enter a password, and then add the new files to the archive. They will then be password protected. Subsequently added files will NOT be password protected.

So, to password protect files added to an existing archive:

1. Open the ZIP file. (It doesn't matter if it is already password protected or not.)

2. Click Tools > Password then enter a password. Your ZIP file is now "primed" with your password.

3. Drag and drop some files into the ZIP file. Select "Add to current archive".

4. Each file that you added is now password protected and shows a + (plus sign) beside the file name.

Sort by

Sorts files by a specified order: file name, compressed size, original size, compression ratio, type, volume, modified, path, compression method, CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check), password, or the original order. The original order is the physical order that files are stored on disk.

Language

Sets ALZip to interact with you in a different language. Over 20 languages are currently available. Your computer must be capable of displaying the language chosen. If your language is not available, visit the ALTools web site to find out how you can help to translate ALZip into your language.

View last output

Displays the results of the last command issued by ALZip such as Archive, Extract, etc.
