Connecting to FTP Servers with Quick Connect

  1. On the ALFTP toolbar, click the "Connect" icon.

  2. In the Quick Connect dialog, enter the FTP address, user ID or login ID, password, port number, check or uncheck passive mode and set other details as appropriate. Click OK to connect. (NOTE: Often anonymous FTP servers require either 'anonymous' or 'guest' as login IDs and your email address as the password. If you have problems, check to see that Passive Mode is checked.)

     

     

  3. ALFTP beings to negotiate a connection with the FTP server and displays a "connecting" dialog.

     

     

  4. The "connecting" dialog disappears after establishing a connection, and the default directory is displayed.
